Venus in the Pleiades, 03.042012

On April 3, 2012, Venus passed through the Pleiades (M45)

Composite of one deep-sky picture of Pleiades taken at Mjølfjell on 2009-01-01 at 21:48 - 22:14 UT+1

Camera: Canon EOS 40D, Hutech modified Type Ib
Telescope: Borg 101ED refractor with f4 reducer
Exposure: 9 x 3min, f4, 800 ISO

And one shorter exposure taken in Bergen on 2012-04-03 at 22:29 local time (UTC+2).

Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkII
Telescope: William Optics ZS 80 II ED, Primary focus.
Exposure: f6.8, 30s, 500 ISO

The last picture was scaled and rotated to exactly match the first picture, and then the pictures were blended in Photoshop CS5.
