Homemade 60mm f15 refractor

Up one level

Av Odd Høydalsvik, Bergen, Norge

From childhood I have always been interested in astronomy. As a teenager in the early 1970's I decided to build my own telescope
My budget was very limited, but I could afford to buy the 60mm f15 objective lens manufactured by Polarex, used in the then popular Unitron series of refractors.
Most of the telescope was built of plywood. Focusing was solved using a photgraphic bellows (originally intended for macro photograpy.)
I was 16-17 years old when constructing and building this stuff.

Sadly, the equipment does no longer exist, but luckily I found the drawings almost 50 years later.

Construction drawings (with Norwegian text):

Homemade Herschel Wedge
